Conservative MP’s cryptocurrency bill delayed as Liberals taunt Poilievre over bitcoin

Liberal and NDP MPs say the Conservatives are trying to save face by delaying debate on a cryptocurrency bill now that the value of the digital currency is taking a nosedive.

But the Tory MP who tabled the bill says that’s just not the case.

Before the summer break, Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner’s private member’s bill on growing Canada’s cryptocurrency industry was No. 1 on the government’s order of precedence, which determines when a private member’s bill will be called for debate.
