On Tuesday night, Channel 5 viewers will get to see more antics from The Yorkshire Vet husband and wife duo Jean and Steve Green.
The couple have quickly become fan-favourites of the show since it first aired back in 2015, especially with Jean’s witty humour and iconic T-shirts bearing slogans.
Since their TV debut, the eccentric couple have become so popular that Channel 5 have given them their own show, which kicks off this week.
People will get to see a glimpse into their simple life on Stonybrough Farm in Thirsk, where they rise at dawn to tend to the dairy calves they look after and work on the land.
The duo have farmed the land since they were married more than 40 years ago.
Now, at 95 years old, Mr Green is Britain’s oldest farmer and is assisted by his wife Jean, aged 72.
However, it seems as though he has no plans of slowing down as he said: “Working on my farm keeps me young and I’ve got no thoughts of retiring.”
The new series, narrated by original All Creatures Great and Small actor, Peter Davison, will look at ways for the couple to diversify.
Jean added: “Farming is not what it used to be and is becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet.”
In the series, people will also get to discover more about their lives, which Jean has described as “simple”.
She added: “We like the simple life, we get up early and have breakfast then go out and feed the baby animals we have.
“We come in and light the fire with wood to have a bath.
“We’re always busy as we have about 50 mouths to feed including 14 and a half cats!”
Also appearing in the series will be Peter Wright, who has been The Green’s vet for over 40 years.
Channel 5 viewers will see him take Jean out to try various ways of generating income for their farm including visiting a five-star cat hotel, a glamping site, an alpaca farm and visitor farm attraction Cannon Hall Farm in South Yorkshire.
Other stars from The Yorkshire Vet Julian Norton and Matt Jackson-Smith also appear in the series.
Jean continued: “People envy our way of life. We haven’t got much money but we get by on what we’ve got.
“Money doesn’t interest us at all and we haven’t let stardom go to our heads, You can still take us as you find us. We won’t change, I don’t think we could.”
The Yorkshire Vet: At Home With The Greens starts Tuesday, July 16 at 8pm on Channel 5.
