KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Investment Bank Bhd (Maybank IB) has launched its “myimpact Invest” campaign for retail clients to offer value-based financial services via fair, transparent, inclusive, and sustainable practices.
Maybank IB said the campaign incentivises trading in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and shariah-compliant stocks.
Its chief operating officer Tengku Ariff Azhar Tengku Mohamed said the campaign has five principles, namely to promote economic value creation while eliminating oppressive, speculative, and harmful activities; transparent and fair dealing; quality service delivery; financial inclusivity; and environmental preservation.
In a separate statement, Tengku Ariff said the investment bank has been at the forefront of ESG investing, which includes thematic reports and ESG tear sheets.
‘With myimpact Invest campaign, we are taking one step further to promote purposeful investing by supporting the local stock market, in particular, the constituents of the FTSE4GOOD Bursa Malaysia Index as well as shariah-compliant securities as determined by Securities Commission Malaysia.
According to Tengku Ariff Azhar, as a full-fledged broker with full-value offerings, Maybank IB will give clients fresh trading ideas delivered via a seamless experience on its new mobile application platforms.
“Our new Maybank Trade MY mobile application launched in April this year was developed through client engagement and iterative improvement.
“By making investing simple, secure, and smart, we democratise the ability for people to grow their wealth. With just RM10, they can open a trading account, and utilise the resources on our application to make informed investment decisions,” he said at the launch ceremony here today.
Clients also stand to win flight tickets with carbon offsets, accommodation at green-certified hotels in London, Tokyo, and the Maldives, smartphones, and online shopping vouchers throughout the six-month campaign which runs from July 15, 2024 to Jan 14, 2025, a separate statement said.
